Mi Zhou, MD, PhD
My research work has included projects in brain tumors and leukemia. One of my primary roles was to establish and maintain a set of immunological assays in the laboratory based on Luminex serology platform. I have frequently developed/optimized the assays and methodological procedures for study of immunological factors and antibodies (CCL22, CD14, CD23, many different cytokines, chemokines and autoantibodies) in various biospecimens (serum, plasma, Guthrie Card extraction) which are associated with the risks of leukemia, brain tumors, pancreatic cancers, and other neoplasms. I also have experience in cloning, western blot, ELISA, DNA methylation, and other techniques of molecular biology. I have worked on a series of functional genomic analyses of single nucleotide polymorphisms that confer increase risk for brain tumor and childhood leukemia. In addition to both designing and follow the protocols in the lab, I have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot challenging methods.
